Compost bin (base and tumbler)
Featuring an efficient drum design, the Good Ideas 90 Gallon Compost Wizard Recycled Plastic Compost Tumbler eliminates the need for strenuous churning. All you have to do is rotate the drum on its stand to quickly and easily mix your compost materials. Glide posts on the base allow the drum to rotate freely while keeping it in position, and recessed handles on the sides provide gripping points for easy turning. Turn it about once a week to keep oxygen, nutrients, micro-organisms, and moisture evenly distributed throughout the developing batch. Within just weeks of accruing garden and kitchen waste, this compost bin will transform your scraps into valuable organic material.
This innovative compost bin is made of molded recycled polyethylene plastic and holds up to 12 cubic feet of material. The black color of the bin absorbs heat, which facilitates faster composting. The low-to-the-ground design and wide 16-inch twist-on lid allows you to load and unload material easily. The air vents circulate air within the batch to accelerate rapid composting. The rotating drum can be removed from its base and rolled to any location for filling or dispensing. The Roto compost tumbler arrives fully assembled and is backed by a one-year manufacturing defect warranty.

Hello...
We live off grid and I love our lifestyle, however I've never really liked the task of walking (during winter months) to take out the household composting items to the compost bin each day. In the very north of New England we have 3 or 4 feet of snow to battle through most of the winter; and what should be a nice walk to the compost bin turns into a fearful expedition during the winter!!
So, when I saw this composting bin, read the information about it, decided to buy... I kind of took a chance when I purchased two of them. BUT... I have to say that this has turned into a brilliant solution to our winter composting dilemma. I have placed both the composting bins inside our garage... we fill them daily, turn them and we have perfect compost that doesn't freeze and will be perfectly ready to use on our spring garden in our green house. This way of composting is easy to get to for us and we don't have to trudge daily through the snow to try and find our composting bin under the snow!
The compost barrel is a delight, the opening is large and has a strong, easily turned lid. The bases are sturdy, and they can be moved easily even by me (and I'm not too strong)! The wheels really work well!
So, if you want my advice, these are good value, they really do turn scraps into perfect compost and they can be used outside in the summer months (or winter) or they can be used inside your garage or basement during the winter. There's no smell at all, they're clean to use and they look good. Also they're made from recyclable materials... they're a great product and well worth the money!! Good job!! Thank you... :)

We have composted before using compost piles and thought this would be more efficient. Received tumbler and added some material we had already partially composted. It was IMPOSSIBLE to turn. Reason: the rollers did not match up with the tumbler barrel. Contacted the manufacturer and they sent a replacement roller section. It matched up better with the barrel but it was still extremely difficult (close to impossible) to turn ... even by a 6-foot male in good condition. Very disappointing since we are both "green" and vegetarians ... and it did not live up to the comments ("ease of use" as described by other owners). At this point we are not sure if we would take a chance on an "in-kind" replacement.

Is exactly what was advertised and came in 4 days across the country with free shipping. Might suggest the addition of a handle to pick up the lid after unscrewing because it gets very hot here in the sun.

Q1: how do you turn it?
A: This compost is on a base that has rollers that the barrel lays on so turning this is as simple as pushing on the bin.
Q2: Can I add to the bin daily or do I need to wait until the first batch has completely decomposed?
A: You can add daily until its 75% full, you stop and wait 2-4 weeks until it finishes. Remember to rotate a couple of times a week.
Q3: How do I water it evenly?
A: You do not need to use water with this compost tumbler.
Q4: How do you empty it?
A: The item has a hole with screws and if you open it and turn it around it will be empty.
Q5: How long does it take for the compost to be ready?
A: Once it is 75% full it will take around 2-4 weeks.
