It features a traditional framed-panel design with decorative molding on the top and bottom. This planter is designed with an innovative sub-irrigation system, which reduces the frequency of watering by storing water in the base of the planter. The built-in water reservoir encourages healthy plant growth by allowing roots to absorb water as they need it from troughs in the bottom of the planter. That means you'll spend less time tending your plants and more time admiring your blooms.
This attractive square planter is made of high-grade polyethylene, which is a durable, low-maintenance material for all-season use. The planter looks like wood but requires none of the maintenance that outdoor wood planters need, such as painting and re-sealing.

I purchased (2) white planters over a year ago; planted American Holly shrubs to enjoy the berries all year. To my dissapointment, one shrub died and the other was on verge. I just cleaned both planters and discovered the small drainage holes were not sufficient for drainage. Make sure your planters are not holding water in the bottom or will be moldy and rot the plants!!!

I am very please with the design,workmanship, and beauty of the two planters that I recently purchased from Mayne. The water reservoir is a particularly attractive design feature since our drought is predicted to continue into this summer. I will be planting climbing roses next week with an arched trellis behind the planters, and I look forward to seeing the results in mid summber.

I recently received my pair of planters. They arrived VERY quickly. They seem quite sturdy and look nice on my patio. I filled the bottom with packing peanuts to keep them from getting too heavy.

It arrived quickly, was easy to set up, and looks great. I got the white one. The only bit of confusion I had was that the instructions recommended a "light weight filler" in the bottom. I guessed that ruled out gravel for drainage but it didn't offer any suggestions. I ended up using styrofoam that I broke up into small pieces. This appears to work well. I've only had it for a few days so I can't comment on durability.
