It seems very functional. I think it will be fine for starting plants. It is very lightweight and easy to put together. No screwdrivers needed. I wouldnt put large plants on it because it is so light but it is useful and cost effective for starting seeds.

I gave this item 3 out of 5 stars because it fits my wish to set my plant seedlings on the shelves. I am very happy in this regard. The missing "stars" to give it a 5/5 rating is because of the fact that the entire structure is pretty unstable and needs to be secured to a post of some kind to keep it from tipping over. Alittle overpriced for the lack of stability. I will only recommend to others with the advice to make sure you can stabilize it before placing plants on it.
